The European Consumer Centre in Spain (ECC-Spain) has recently published a new issue of the Newsletter which includes information on the recent approval of the Organic Law 1/2025 on efficiency measures for the Public Justice Service. It explains the changes that this law entails for civil proceedings in Spain. One of the most important aspects is the promotion of negotiation through the different Appropriate Means of Dispute Resolution (ADR) as a prerequisite for resorting to traditional judicial channels. In this way, important new features are incorporated in the extrajudicial resolution of disputes with the aim of speeding up procedures and reducing the overload on the courts.

The latest Newsletter also includes a new leaflet in which ECC-Spain explains to consumers the different steps to follow when making consumer complaints, as well as the different bodies to which they can turn to enforce their rights out of court.
