With the implementation of the new European Regulation 2024/3228, the European Online Dispute Resolution Platform (ODR Platform) will cease to provide all its services as of 20 July this year. However, consumers and users will no longer be able to submit new complaints via this website, although they will still be able to consult it.
Thus, all stored user information - including personal data - will be deleted by 20 July 2025 at the latest. It is therefore recommended that all users export their information before 19 July 2025, so that they can keep their documentation before it is permanently removed from the platform.
To assist consumers in retrieving this data, the European Commission has made available a dedicated email address (JUST-EC-ODR-REPEAL@ec.europa.eu) to resolve any difficulties they may have in retrieving their data.
From now on, consumers will be able to turn to other Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms such as:
European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net).
Entities (ADR) notified to the European Commission.
Fin-Net. For European cross-border complaints related to Finance, Insurance and Pension Funds, and Investment Services.
European Supervisory Authorities for Personal Data Protection.
About the RLL Platform
Since its launch, the Platform has helped both European consumers and traders to settle out-of-court disputes relating to online purchases. To do so, complaints could be submitted by filling in an electronic form available in all official EU languages (plus Norwegian and Icelandic) and attaching the necessary documents.
Throughout this time, the European Consumer Centre in Spain (ECC-Spain) - designated by the European Commission as the platform's contact point in Spain - has offered assistance and support in the submission of complaints through the platform.
