The European Consumer Centre in Spain (ECC-Spain) has just published a new edition of its Newsletter, a specialist publication that covers the main legislative developments, institutional initiatives and recommendations relating to consumer protection at European level.

Among the highlights of this latest edition is the call made by the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net) to the European Union institutions to review the current Consumer Protection Cooperation (CPC) framework. The aim is to adapt the mechanisms for monitoring and supervising digital markets, which are becoming increasingly complex and cross-border in nature, and to strengthen the capacity to take action against potential infringements affecting European consumers.

The Newsletter also covers – amongst other topics – the ECC-Net’s call to update the rules on rail passengers’ rights in order to offer greater protection to travellers.

Readers will also find information on the recent adoption of Directive (EU) 2026/1024, which amends European legislation on package travel and holiday packages. This new legislation aims to strengthen travellers’ rights, increase transparency in contracts and improve legal certainty for consumers.

Alongside these updates, the publication includes practical information and recommendations drawn up by the European Consumer Centre in Spain to help consumers make safer, more responsible and better-informed purchases, and to protect consumers’ rights during the summer sales.

With this new edition, ECC-Spain reaffirms its commitment to providing information, advice and the defence of European consumers’ rights, facilitating access to up-to-date and relevant content on the main issues affecting consumer affairs in the European Union.
